The Coastal Community Empowerment Program is one of the programs that has been carried out by SUN in partnership with PT. Pertamina (Persero) in Majakerta, Karongsong, and Balongan Villages, Indramayu Regency, West Java.
This program won 2nd place in the National CSR competition, receiving additional capital assistance from the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs. The target group has been recognized as a joint business group by the Department of Fisheries and Marine Affairs of Indramayu. The assisted groups also get facilities to participate in exhibitions in the context of Pertamina’s birthday.
This empowerment program consists of a series of derivative programs such as Fishermen Empowerment through improving the quality of safe and effective fishing methods, making nets and providing operational material assistance. Then the empowerment of ex-TKW by training in the manufacture of processed food products from shredded fish and the cultivation of freshwater fish such as shrimp, milkfish and catfish. Duck cultivation is also carried out to improve the economy of the local community.
