Depok, Senyumnegeri.or.id — Bank Indonesia held a free health service activity at Posyandu RW.03 Cilangkap Tapos, Depok. This program was implemented in commemoration of the World Tubercolloses Day (24/03). This disease is capable of causing enormous losses, not only from the health aspect but also from the social and economic aspects. Anyone can be infected with this disease, if they do not take care of the health of the environment and themselves.

Currently, Indonesia is ranked number two with the most tuberculosis or TB sufferers after India. We urge all stakeholders in the health sector to take serious steps to reduce the number of TB sufferers in Indonesia,” said Nila Djuwita F Moeloek as Minister of Health of Indonesia (24/3).

This health service program was opened by the Chairman of LPM Cilangkap, Mr. Taufik. He stated, we are grateful to Bank Indonesia for working with GMC in conducting health service programs for the community. This program is expected to raise public awareness of the importance of maintaining health, especially guarding against tuberculosis as a form of commemoration of TB day. This is in accordance with the theme, BI cares about TB, Healthy Indonesia with Actions to find TB, Treat until Healed. In addition, direct exposure by the health team, dr. Iqbal revealed the dangers of TB, diagnosis and prevention of the disease.

This health service only targets as many as 80 people, but the enthusiasm of the residents to take part in this activity was recorded as many as 116 people who registered and were examined. The community welcomes this activity. Not only adults and children, elderly parents also participated in this activity. One of the residents of Cilangkap village said that this activity was very useful and very helpful for the underprivileged residents. Hopefully this activity can run continuously, he said. (hmd)
