The awareness to share is not only a noble attitude taught by all religions. Furthermore, the thoughts and instincts of human social beings always require us to be caring and sensitive to all the suffering, shortcomings and limitations that are felt by others. There is another side of our mind that suffers or feels guilty when we have and feel the ease of living with various facilities, while at the same time we know that there are many people who find it difficult to fulfill their basic life needs.
The month of Ramadan is one of those moments where we as individuals can share and care for each other. Rasulullah Sholallaahu “Alaihi Wasallam said “The most important charity is charity in the month of Ramadan.” (HR. Al-Tirmidhi). In addition, if we want to be closer to heaven then treat orphans. Rasulullah Sholallaahu “Alaihi Wasallam said “I and those who care for orphans will be close in heaven like the middle and index fingers are close.” (H.R. Bukhari Muslim). The hadith shows that we are given the opportunity to do good with multiple rewards and are brought closer to heaven just by supporting orphans.
Based on this, Smile for the Country (SUN) Foundation as a social institution that is engaged in sustainable community empowerment and focuses on providing services in the fields of education, health, economy and the environment, holds social activities in the month of Ramadan to support orphans with the theme “Light of Love”. Ramadhan” as a form of concern for orphans.
