The Yogyakarta Geological Disaster Technology Research and Development Agency (BPPTKG) has determined the status of Mount Merapi to be level III since early November 2020. Hundreds of residents around the slopes of Mount Merapi were forced to evacuate to the nearest post to anticipate things that are not desirable.
Responding to this situation, SUN collaborated with Sampoerna SAR to distribute hundreds of aid packages which were delivered directly to evacuation posts as a form of preparedness and a form of disaster emergency response. Based on the results of coordination with BPBD DIY, BPBD Sleman, FKKRS, and direct observations in the field, namely the Glagaharjo Refugee Post, the Team obtained information that hundreds of residents of 7 villages from 33 hamlets had been evacuated to the Glagaharjo refugee post.
