Skill development provides every individual with the opportunity to compete more effectively in a competitive world. The increase in human resources is a determining factor in the progress of individuals in a region.

As a multinational company, PT. PDSI also contributes to community development in its working area. To improve the skills of the surrounding community and a form of social responsibility, PT. PDSI Indramayu launched the Independent Youth Skills Training program. This program has entered its 2nd year with a total of 103 participants who are youths from villages around the working area of PT. PDSI.

The Youth Skills Training Program has two main activities, namely Development of Batch 1 DTC Program and Batch 2 Drilling Training Center. In the Development of Batch 1 DTC Program as many as 19 participants received Entrepreneurship Training, institutional development (CV) and business assistance. Meanwhile, in the Drilling Training Center Batch 2, 84 participants received materials and practices for welding and AC service as well as the formation of a youth business community.

In addition to involving youth as training participants, PDSI employees also voluntarily become volunteers in this activity. Employee volunteers provide material about welding and AC service, they are also the ones who provide assistance and guidance on welding practices and AC service.

The Youth Skills Training Program was officially opened by Bpk. Comedy as Manager of PT. PDSI Indramayu on September 12, 2018 at the Indonesia Drilling Training Center (IDTC) Indramayu. In the series of launching activities, for three days entrepreneurship training has been carried out, providing materials and practices for welding & AC service as well as the formation of a youth business community. By providing skills for youth, this program is expected to be able to encourage participants to create new jobs for themselves and others. This effort is also expected to be able to realize a competitive Indonesia in the era of the global economy. (mnc)
