Toyota supports The Sustainable Waste Bank Strategy

TANJUNG PRIOK, SUN – PT Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia (TMMIN) conducted socialization and education on waste management at the RPTRA Pulo Besar RW 11 Sunter Jaya, Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta.

Waste management education is part of the IGA program through the establishment of a waste bank in the community. Through this program, it is hoped to reduce the accumulation of inorganic waste generated from household waste. During the opening, Eka explained that the volume of waste generated by residents in Sunter Jaya Village is still high and needs appropriate handling.

“The contribution of waste from the community in Sunter Jaya Village is still high every day. There are still many plastic wastes that are not properly managed, and the community’s awareness in waste management is not yet established,” said Eka. Eka hopes that the waste management socialization program at the Pulo Besar Waste Bank can reduce the volume of waste in the area.

“Thank you to PT TMMIN for being willing and caring to see the condition of waste management in RW 011 by providing assistance through the establishment of the Pulo Besar Waste Bank,” he said.

The process of handing over the waste bank was carried out directly by the Section Head of Community Development of PT TMMIN, Sasriadi.

“Thank you to the Village Head and the Head of Tanjung Priok LH Satpel, as well as all parties for their support and collaboration in this activity,” said Heri, as he is familiarly called.

Through this activity, residents are given an understanding of Governor Regulation No. 77 of 2020 regarding waste management by the Head of the Environmental Services Unit of Tanjung Priok Sub-District, Leo Tantono. Also, residents receive education on sorting and processing waste through the waste bank according to their types and utilization.

“Just for your information, the training activities and the symbolic handover of the Pulo Besar Waste Bank are part of the mentoring process carried out by SUN in the implementation of the TMMIN IGA program, and there are also other types of mentoring,” Satriadi concluded.
